Attire me When I die my love
attire me
dress me in the sheeting of your
bodily scent
tower above me, greener than grass
in your eyes the fading light
my glimmer
when life leaves me
I hear no lamentation over death
only relieving grief
like summer’s mild rains
wash wounds again
and if you wish
remember then
and attire me.

Butterfly blues When I’m gone
plant some white flowers in your garden
when then on a summer’s evening
dusk is falling
you’d see a cloud of whirling butterflies
you’d imagine they were my poems
my thoughts
always moving
longing for the essential beauty
in this life.
